I just finished my BSc in maths and continuing on an MSc in maths. I love coding and I love maths. I don't see myself in academia, I would prefer industry. I've been coding outside of uni. I am now on an SWE internship at Facebook, last year did Amazon and year before that a small company. So, I am at the crossroads here. I would like to code, but also to apply some maths that I've studied and will study in the future - in areas such as quant, ML and similar. Which companies should I consider for my long term career path? I am currently in Europe but would like to relocate to the US as soon as possible.
Go work for nsa. Otherwise you’ll become dumb soon being around swe for a few years
Just remember, math is plural already
You're in for a huge disappointment if you think there is going to be math to do in industry. Finance is your best bet, but you will still be disillusioned and disappointed. If you try to go to big tech it'll be even worse.
Mathworks?
Research in industry
Bsc math -> analyst Goldman Sachs -> quantitative analyst Morgan Stanley -> vp Morgan stanley -> start your own investment startup -> sell it to Morgan stanley -> retire

Undergrad-level probability and statistics brainteaser interviews ≠ academic math on the job
fair enough, but outside of quant jobs I'm not sure where "academic math" is used. Sell side roles have a lot of stochastic calc, whereas buy side research roles are still mathy.
