So Page and Brin control over 51% of the voting rights in Google (by design) and considering Sundar is still here, they want Sundar to be the CEO. Although these founders are thought to be geniuses, maybe they are not (they tried to sell Google for a million dollars to Yahoo) So maybe they do not know Google would turn this big and have no confidence in firmly enforcing what the right thing is for the company. That is also why they are not coming back. Either that, Sundar and Google executives have actually secret strategies that no one knows yet besides these two founders and they want Sundar to execute the plan intl the future Thoughts?? *First option should be they DO NOT know what to do with Google. Sorry for the typo in the poll
You should read a lot of the older legends posted internally and it’ll paint the right picture for you. Sergey and Larry’s main achievement was having a great product to start and then hiring and empowering really smart people who brought in other really smart people. Google switched to BigCo culture a long time ago and is running on momentum alone.
You are overthinking, just buy the dip!
Tesla: almost went bankrupt 3x and Elon almost sold the company to Google and once tried to get Apple to buy it Apple: almost went bankrupt and Microsoft bailed them out Nvidia: almost went bankrupt 3x at least Amazon: Stock Price once went down 90% from the peak Like they said.. buy the dip
Sometimes I kinda think that way too. Like the two things the founders got right and definitely deserve credit are figuring out Google search in the first place and then hiring Eric Schmidt to run the company for them. Under Eric, the 2000s were a really successful decade for Google and the company went from just being some cool startup to a global tech giant. Lots of wins and success stories like Maps, Gmail, Chrome, etc. Then around the early 2010s, they told Eric to take a hike and took over management themselves. It feels like that was the turning point where the company stopped winning and transitioned to just coasting on past glories. I feel like conclusion from all this is that Larry and Sergey are ultimately just not very good leaders even if they may have been brilliant computer scientists. They are two guys who basically made a couple of really successful bets in their 20s and it paid off exponentially. It seems like their judgment actually worsened over the years too. Whereas in the 90s they were at least smart enough to hire someone like Eric, by 2015 they picked Sundar 🤡
