I am in a situation where I have several small tasks. I feel I could finish them faster if I have not been assigned them at once. Wondering how could you deal with this type of work in your day to day life. Task compromises of coding, follow ups, writing doc, making plan for a new project, creating ramps, writing emails, etc. I feel like I am overloaded with them, though those tasks can be easily done if I don't have this mind set. What's happening is I am jumping on and off from them and not able to finish them quickly. Could I get some tips on how to deal with such a situation? This situation is affecting so much that i have lost due diligence in my work and often missout on small things and ends up delayiny my tasks. Tim Ferris’ book, The 4 Hour Work Week, talks a lot about this exact situation. Really changed the way I approach pretty much everything in my life.
Thanks for the book name. I'll try to read that book. I have two in the line so not sure if I'll be able to achieve that sometime soon. Maybe share few gist of the book. It will help me and others.
yes @EArr77 - would love if u shared the gist
Read the book when by Daniel pink. It's about finding the right time and when you are at your best.
If you could share few lessons learned and how to achieve them that would be great. Thanks for the book name.

How can you make 230k and not be able to organize yourself?
At the very core, it's task prioritization and overall focus..sort by deadline( so you don't miss any for starters) and also feel free to close a few independent tasks to drive the overall momentum forward especially when you feel 'stuck'. Mindset is everything !!
Thanks for the tip. I understand that. It's just really hard for me to do that continuously and I ended up jumping on different tasks. How can one get past that?
I sort by priority and deadline so in a work week I don't touch certain tasks till its time. It requires a little self-discipline. It's hard to do everything at once..you end up being spread too thin so efficiency and quality drops ...
Read "The One Thing"
Also could mean you need a new job if your are slugging coffee to stay focused
Pomodoro technique can help you to solve this!!
The book pomodoro technique illustrated really helped me. There is also the bullet journal which works well when you don't have a lot of deep work.
Spend some time, at the beginning of the day (or even better, the evening before) to prioritize your tasks for the day. Relegate instant messages to one check-in per hour. Do not deviate from the day’s plan. Put it in your calendar if necessary.
If your tc is 230k. You should know
C'mon don't be that guy 😂
Jeez, called out TC without even providing your own, way to fail.
Earliest deadline first approach. They teach that in algorithms class. Formal proof and stuff
That's a problem with me. I try not to prioritize my stuff. I want to but couldn’t do it. I need to learn. If you have some point of guidance on that front then do share.
Start with resisting the urge to switch. Since you say these are smaller tasks, get them done in one go. That should help 75% of the problem. Once you find yourself switching less often, take the earliest deadline first approach.
