Just got an offer from McKinsey for a Product Manager role: Base: $192K Bonus: $30K YOE: 6 years at Big Four TC: 140K Negotiation tips? #consulting #mckinsey
Location?
Chicago
Do you know if this is client facing? Usually mck doesn’t give much room for negotiations in client facing roles at least up to EM equivalent roles. Rest is determined by performance and tenure.
Is it in McKinsey Academy?
No, I think McKinsey digital or operations. Not sure if they are separate
This is a really great offer
Is it so? The bonus seems really low
Is this for EM or really PM ? I have never worked with a “PM” at McKinsey and don’t see much of them in client work.
The role says PM - but, it’s at the EM level. What do you think about the offer?
You can reply to the comments if you want to, rather than posting new comments. Anyway, I don’t understand the nuances and how different it would be from EM. What I can tell you though : salary seems on par with EM level. The bonus you’re mentioning is assuming normal performance, could be double that in case of great performance. If you’re getting EM salary with a WLB much better than EMs (by being a PM), sounds great to me as long as you’re excited about the role yourself !
Well, it's EM-level in base, but as GWD mentioned not in bonus (at least relative to integrative - I feel like the default bonus is almost twice that no? )
OP, I have PEI (Personal Experience Interview) and PSS (Problem Solving Scenario) interviews coming up. Can you provide assistance please?
How did your PSS interview go?
