I had an initial call with a recruiter from McKinsey on a technical role. He said he sent over screening test on the same day. I haven’t received it yet and emailed and messaged him with no reply. Am I rejected?
For me, it was really quick, but that's because of my holding other offers.
Some time frames would be helpful…
A recruiter reached out months ago, said they really want to interview me, then she disappeared. I interviewed few times afterwards with other companies, got few job offers and started a new job last month, and last week I got an email from the recruiter asking me for time slots. I didn't get a technical screening, just the normal questionnaire. I'm like, who dis? 🤣🤣
Trying to get into m.consulting myself. Any tips for experienced hire. No MBA. Almost 5YOE TC: 155 *have a call on Tuesday with a Kearney partner. Friend of a friend. Open to additional ideas on how to go about this convo as well. Thx
You'll learn a lot in consulting, but you have to pick the right place. Check InCycleSoftware. They're a very good place for software consulting and they pay well for the right people.
What kind of experience? Depends on the firm, some are big into MBAs and sometimes all it takes is knowing a person or two... or just plain ol having experience in a certain domain that they are looking for Find some recruiters on LinkedIn and just introduce yourself. Till then just keep applying to open roles. Only a couple elite firms like McKinsey and Bain of course...all the others are about generally the same. Even McK has a tech arm now (for a long while). Luck is involved as well once youre hired. Which group you're assigned to, which clients/projects you get etc. Some folks end up with much better experience/careers than others based on that.
Recruiter said five weeks for the whole interview process.
I got interview arrangements almost two months after I finished my OA
They were real accommodating. They basically just said whenever I’m ready within the next 6 weeks due to case study prep
Their process is very slow
