Goldman has some good groups doing algorithmic trading and quants Mckinsey SWE are pure support roles that build internal tools for consultants Neither is good, Goldman is less awful than McKinsey
How’s building a product for consultants pure support?
“Building product for consultants” that’s the exact definition of support. You are building for internal employees, not building for clients. The number of users for your software will be below 200. You’re not revenue-generating because no matter how great your software is, the consultants aren’t giving their bonus to you. You will be treated like a servant who is brought in to serve those consultants. Also check Levels fyi for McKinsey SWE. The TC is ridiculous. Goldman is notorious for low TC, yet McKinsey is even lower than Goldman.
