Maybe NASA? (Or other national labs.) Government is stable and while I’m sure it’s hard to get a job at NASA, people there seem to love it. (Also I know that they hire MechE PhDs.)
thanks, she applied for post doc at Lawrence liver more lab , but yet to hear from them, seems that some government labs require security clearance
Don’t be shy to email AND call to follow up with government jobs, if you think there’s still a chance. They can be SLOWWWWWWW to respond.
SpaceX works closely with Velo3D to print components on their raptor engines. So maybe an LPBF SME for SpaceX could be a good route. Starbase may be on the other side of the state for you though.
thanks Lockheed , the only issue can be she is on Visa and she doesn't have security clearance , but I will encourage her to apply ,
Maybe the printer suppliers themselves then. Velo3D is the biggest player in LPBF. Desktop Metal is the leader in binder jetting but they are based in Boston and having some issues with funding.

Classic answer from Amazon folks…many of them still try to convince that Amazon is a great place to work 🤞
