A Meta recruiter has contacted me about a SWE position, and we've arranged a call. What can I expect from this first conversation? #tech #meta #interview
Yoe?
Go over your work history, salary expectations, and role. Read job descriptions and highlight things in your previous roles to give examples or speak about.
What's the optimal approach to answering salary expectations question? Should I provide specific numbers, or is a general response sufficient?
They will attempt to make you laugh with a series of dad jokes. Get ready to exhale some air through your nose.
They will ask you your expected TC… get the answer ready in a smart way

If you really have a number to hit, it is ok to let them know the number, otherwise, it could waste yours and their time for interviews if the TC came back too low. for example, when Amazon reached out to me, I told them my expected TC, they came back said their role TC is around xxxx ( which is 60% of my target) ask me do I still want to move forward. If you really wants the position, and do not mind on TC too much. tell them you would like to see how the interviews go and see how much the company would value you first.
They will explain the process and ask you about your availability for phone screening. Will ask you to prepare as much as possible.
