Meta = 21K (11K last November + 10K last week) , Amazon = 27K (18K January + 9K today). Total across these 2 companies = 48K layoffs. If we include the 2 other large layoffs - Google and Microsoft - that's 70,000 layoffs in total across only the 4 largest companies (announcing layoffs) since November. EDIT: layoffs.fyi indicates 300K layoffs in total across 1000+ tech companies in all of 2022-23 so far (includes the Amazon announcement today). EDIT 2: corrected Amazon numbers
How do I use this info
Stocks could go up or down, I dunno.
OP is helping mental healthcare industry to get more leads by posting this here.
Amazon is 18k (announced then expanded) + 9k = 27k
Ah forgot that, just updated the post, ty 👍
Amazon is more, it is 18k in Jan plus 9k soon. Total 27k.
Just updated the post, ty 👍
Only 300k, it's fine, Let's w8 for 3M
Highly doubt they are all engs
How many did those companies hire in the last 2 years ? Guaranted it was like 5x at least that Just trimming the fat. Probably have no need for half the people at most of the companies.
meta went 44k -> 86k in 2019-2022 amazon also doubled from 2019-2022
Lol, I bet they could get down to 44K with no real loss maybe lower than that!
Imagine 48k families getting affected due to incompetent leadership. Agree they do not have a crystal ball. But this is beyond ridiculous that the top brass continue to enjoy perks and quite literally take no responsibility.
Useless info. How much is swe. Amazon laying off warehouse workers
No, these are corporate employee layoffs
