I'm an AMTS in Salesforce due for Promo next year in March. I also have an offer at Meta, but I'll be restarting as a new grad. The pay right now is about the same in both positions. But MTS is just about an 8 percent increase in Base. I'd like to join Meta but I don't like working in super high stress environments and I'm hearing people are frozen in boot camp and likely to get laid off first. A layoff would suck since I'm currently on H1b. I had the following questions 1. Should I stay put, get my promo and then look around with approx 2 YOE in March? 2. My current techstack is backend - Spring Java Kafka and building services. Is this a useful space to stick around and learn stuff in? I'm already 26 so I'm focusing on building a valuable skillset. Would welcome any advice. T. C: approx 200k bay area #engineering #software #swe #faang #softwareadvice
Stay at Salesforce and get the promo.
You have a good stack to learn as well.
Why do you want to join Meta if you said you don't like working in super high stress environments?
Not wise to join meta at current moment
That’s a nice tech stack you have, given this is Salesforce. It is surely valuable. Would love to oom if you can share the org name atleast
Also, MTS to SMTS shouldn’t be too hard. You’ll get another 10% bump and 15% target bonus
Hey, sorry for the naivety. New guy here. What is oom?
