Just curious what Meta finance levels are based on YOE? I have almost 9 YOE and see roles like “Analytics Business Partner”. These look like IC roles but no information on level. Ideally I’d try and come over at the bottom of the next range. Eg if L4 is 8+ YOE I’d shoot for that instead of an easier interview experience for L3 to have to work my way at back up. #meta
It’s more about scope of work and how it relates rather than YOE. For example I applied to a position that was looking for a IC5 or IC6. They hired me at an IC5. They hired another guy with the same YOE but more directly relatable experience to our daily work at an IC6.

I got offered an IC4 145k TC
YOE is a reasonable proxy for seniority... but look at the job description in detail as they are pretty detailed. Meta finance titles are confusing. A "Finance manager" could be anywhere between L5 (senior IC, $230k) to M2/L7 (senior manager / manager of managers, $400k). Same goes for Analytics Business Partner in my experience...
Damn M2 finance only make 400k? I guess us tech folks have it much better...
Back in 2019 I was interviewing for a finance and ops (or business strategy and ops) role, forget yes experience but think it was MBA preferred and 7+. Base comp was $150k. I almost laughed at the recruiter. No amount of stock they’re realistically giving would make up for such a low base for someone 30+ yrs old esp with an MBA. FB seems to pay garbage for business roles.
