Was a manager at Meta in Austin, and was laid off last April with the tech layoffs. It’s been a tough time for managers. I joined as an IC in a startup in Dec 23 but requires me to relocate to bay area this year and go into work 5 days a week. I recently received a TPM CW offer back at Meta (remote), which Im thinking about taking (and maybe doing an MBA on the side). Is it career suicide to take up a CW role after being a manager at Meta? TC at startup - 185k + 10% joining bonus + paper money TC at Meta CW - 185k.
All options are bad. Why do an MBA and look for a job? Just look for a IC/EM remote job
In hardware, trying to switch to software.
Why would you get an MBA to switch to software?
What kind of manager were you at meta?
Hardware, people
MBA ROI is negative at this state of the economy, convert to CW stay remote and continue searching for a new job.
