I'll be starting as IC4(security) in Meta soon. Although I have 5+ years of experience (software mostly), the recruiter told me that IC5 was a bit difficult directly since I've only worked for startups, but the promotion should be fast.(since the interviews went well too) How should I proceed once I join Meta, so that my promotion to IC5 is as soon as possible? Also what do you guys think is the minimum time a person needs to be in IC4 before they get a promotion? Meta TC: €150K
Yup. That recruiter completely lied to you
You need a project to get promoted. Sometimes, getting the project is much harder than doing jobs at next level. As someone said, newly promoted L4 are in better positions than you to get promoted.
Not at Meta. Since you are supposed to become a 5 within a timeframe, there is a push to make it happen.
Tc breakdown?
Recruiters will say anything to make you sign any contract. Don’t believe everything they say. You only get promoted if you demonstrate you are consistently performing at the next level. It all depends on you. You could get that promotion in 3 months or 3 years.
Not true. In Meta either you are promoted to 5 within 33 months or you are fired
Well 3 years vs 33 months. Big deal. I agree recruiters are like realtors, they say anything to get the deal done
