Blind team, The time has come for Meta application here shortly. Have had dozens look at my resume. I am looking for one last round of feedback on my resume. Obviously removed identifying information at the top but please scrutinize to the fullest! It’s how we get better right?
Dude, good lucky trying. Meta is literally talking in cut their workforce. Also, your CV is alright, nobody here cares about what you write in it or where you graduated from, as long as you pass the interviews
Well it’s the resume that gets you the interviews to begin with. If it’s trash I won’t even be given a look lol
That’s not how it works- no openings, no interviews. Awesome resume aside. They aren’t even giving return offers to their own interns.
Here are some thoughts: I recommend putting the year range of each position so the reviewer can see your progression. What are you trying to show with the third bullet of your first position? Not sure if this adds value to your resume for the position your are applying to. I think you should expand the fourth bullet into two separate bullets, dive into what you did with Agile/Waterfall project methodologies. This will showcase your skill set and actions. For the fifth bullet of your second position, how did you facilitate a culture of safety and productivity? The action will help them know what you did and how it can be applied to their company. Some of the bullets in your second and third position overlap, you could remove the lower ranked ones in the earlier position and use the extra space to focus on other skill sets (Agile specifically) to showcase. If you did any coursework worth mentioning might be worth adding. I wouldn’t say “basic” Python unless you are not confident with your Python skill set. You could always prep for an interview if they are asking you Python questions. Is there a specific suite of Adobe you are referring to for technologies?
This is the kind of feedback I’m looking for. Will for sure give it a look over and clean it up based on this thank you!
In my case it’s a little awkward. I can read your code and 85-90% of the time understand what’s going on. Not necessarily write my own entire program, just yet. I am in a class. It’s like understanding a language, yet not being able to speak it (of which I’m also at fault for)
Nice, I applaud your transparency as well as being able to summarise your experience so efficiently. Let me know if you need a referral, happy to put one forward (I only need the first/last name and an email). Plenty of roles open at the moment!
I have about 8 months before I’m out of the army. Would love a referral though. If I get into this program it doesn’t start until January (cohort 1) and June (cohort 2) which I’d be in. However for other roles in the future and non-paid internships in November I’d definitely love a referral. Keep in touch? Thank you
Bad timing man. Managers have a deadline of Monday to come up with a list of people to manage out of the company. Basically instead of laying off people, they're starting a mass PIP
Nothing but rumours.
Hope not. I’ll remain a bit optimistic for the time being. Lol I acknowledge the sincerity in your post though. Love an update later if it turns into hell at Meta
Thank you. Product management is definitely where my passion lies. Thought the program is probably more difficult to land than a regular role.. hopes up. Thanks for the review
First bullet you say developed with professional development. Maybe change developed to “mentored and grew” or something similar. Also it might be helpful to put your rank and time in roles. Just curious, why are you getting out?
Redundancy. Thanks for that. I told y’all. 12+ people looked over it no one including myself mentioned that at all.. thanks ! And my wife and I are dual military so it’s been rough. We’re both getting out. My back injury is getting worse yet I’m the type to continue to give 100% when it’s needed further exacerbating my back. However, foremost, is my love for tech and product.
You may want to directly reach out to the people featured on the RPM landing page, particularly the infantry officer at the top… good luck!
I have ! Thank you. Fingers crossed!
Ur resume is fine - just minor formatting things. Tbh, I’d expect westpoint to have more resources + connects for you to help transition out the army
They do. And I have been networking with them as well. Don’t want to put my eggs in one basket but there’s west pointers across FAANG (if that’s what you can call it anymore) willing to refer. But I’ll also apply to RPM on my own standing. Many opportunities but I’m shooting high while I have the time to network and prepare thoroughly
Sounds like you got a nice plan, best of luck!

Rahul Gandhi is poison but the people who believe in him are a lot worse
Looks good but why Meta? Not the best timing imo since they are likely looking to cut their workforce.
I love the RPM program. However I am open to other programs and other roles. I have been networking like crazy and currently have 2 referrals for Google, one for Meta (not RPM), and one for Amazon. Imposter syndrome makes me assume I’m not good enough for either company. Lol
You have other suggestions? I never shy away from helpful information
