Sadly, asking for a layoffed friend. Will severance be received as a lump sum or is it incremental like a normal paycheck? Also, is there any expectation to return some of the severance if you get a new job before the 14 week time window is over - for example, on week 3? Thanks and god bless. Your friend who was laid off would have received this information. Why are you inquiring for them?
“Asking for a friend”
Lol, you read my post and your first reaction was skepticism? I’m just looking it up for a friend who asked me how it works. As you can imagine, the paperwork from Meta is filled with legalese. Just looking for a simple ELI5 explanation to pass along
You never need to return severance and it’s a lump sum. In fact you’re likely able to file for unemployment as well in addition to the severance
Great point, thanks
depends on your last working day on your pink slip. at least you follow the warn act with 60 days on fb payroll, during that time, you can’t work for another company as you are technically still employed by fb.
So it sounds like for the next ~9 weeks you will still get a regular paycheck and then potentially the remainder will be given as a lump sum once the 60 day period ends? Am I understanding you correctly?
Also curious about this
So much jealousy. Let him have the severance money.
Can permanent residents file and receive unemployment benefits from state? thanks
