Some quality nuggets from the recent all hands (if this article is to be believed) https://www.theverge.com/23277797/mark-zuckerberg-meta-facebook-employees-pressure “Realistically, there are probably a bunch of people at the company who shouldn’t be here,” Zuckerberg said on the June 30th call, according to a recording obtained by The Verge. “And part of my hope by raising expectations and having more aggressive goals, and just kind of turning up the heat a little bit, is that I think some of you might just say that this place isn’t for you. And that self-selection is okay with me.” When COVID pandemic lockdowns began, Facebook suspended its performance-review process that determines bonuses for half of the year, giving everyone a blanket “exceeds expectations” grade, extra time off, and a $1,000 cash bonus. By June of 2021, almost anyone could work wherever they wanted. At the same time, the company embarked on a massive hiring spree, growing its number of full-time employees by 62 percent, from 48,000 at the end of 2019 to more than 77,800.

Lol! This article should be dated as 100BC
Lol, everything here has been the talk of the town for like the last month. Where were you OP?
Don’t work at Meta. So I guess… working?
Then what happened today? Stopped working all of a sudden. Been all over the news.
TL;DR Zuck over hired and don't want to pay severance
Zuck is inspiring... attrition
Please teach me how to shut myself off from the world
Lol, and the replies from OP show he's oblivious to the fact that he's been living under a rock
I can't blame him probably still uses internet explorer. The amazing thing is the article is dated July 26th, OP obviously believes it's that recent
Hiring too much from boot camp only knows leetcoding but nothing seems to be a bad idea
Loooool
I don’t think that’s the lesson they’ll take away from this
Finally, they are out of the stone. On the hindsight, Zuk seems started to understand that the leetcode+boot-camp monkeys cannot really be that much useful huh!
Why do you all hate boo, tcamp grads do much , was a great way be to switch from medicine.
Bootcamps teach you just 20% of what is covered in a typical undergrad CS program. 25% of undergrad is bullshit breadth courses anyway. If you're successful as someone who spent $10k and 3 months on a CS bootcamp, it makes everyone who paid $200k for a 4-year degree look stupid
Techies have gone soft with their 500K TCs and lavish perks. It is rather good to see a tech leader worried and trying to take the reins. All his comments might not be right, but I see a man trying to SAVE jobs and the company in the longer run. He is playing the long term game. Admitting you have a problem is the first step to the solution. Remember that all these $$$ you enjoy is because FB on the first companies which raised the fuck out of SDE TCs
Would you join Meta in current scenario?
Never lol i cant work like that ever again ( i am not in Amazon anymore) This is more of a financial take
Which stone do you live under
Ummm… the one with an internet connection? 🤷♀️
This is old news. Read it more than a month back
