The VP was complicit in the scam - a juicer that simply used pre-made juices and mixed water in it. Charged a subscription fee and a hefty initial equipment charge. A scammer’s mind alone can come up with such design.
You should look at the engineering breakdown on Juicero machine. The word ridiculous is understating it.

Meta does NOT care about technical expertise. The VPs and directors here don't even know what that means. All they know is direction setting. Wow this guy ideated, funded, scoped, executed, marketed, and released his own product?!! Such high level behavior. We gotta hire him! Wait he doesn't know anything about VR technology? The dumbest part about meta is desensitized and out of touch managers. It was not uncommon for managers to say that the place was for go getters only, and the expectation was to work with more intensity. Imbeciles indeed.
