This morning Mark Zuckerberg shared a blog post updating Meta's "Year of Efficiency." Part of the update is another round of layoffs in April 2023 following initial cuts made in November 2022. One of his objectives in flattening the organization is speeding up innovation with many managers now focused on being individual contributors - "a leaner org will execute its highest priorities faster. People will be more productive, and their work will be more fun and fulfilling." https://about.fb.com/news/2023/03/mark-zuckerberg-meta-year-of-efficiency/ #work #people #tech #engineers #engineering #software #swe
Fake news
Let me just close my eyes so the issue won’t exist
What’s fake news? Do you live under a rock?
Looks like Bain wrote it, direct copy from some mba textbook
Have you ever read any MBA textbook?
Who copy from textbook anymore, chatGPT nowadays
This is what I mentioned before. The leaked memos show another 30K of layoffs before Q4
wtf, what leaked memos are you talking about?
Link for memo ?
Hey guys, is Meta cutting more people? I haven’t been able to tell from the Blind home feed today. Is it happening? What is Meta doing? I’m not really sure based on other posts.
It was announced today its real. https://stocks.apple.com/AUmXILG_-Rkedz7j7cUMxiw
This was satire, my dude. I’m making fun of how overposted this shit is.
So no layoff until end of April?
It's happening as I type
Recruiters are being cut right now, i have not heard of anyone else
He is not wrong
I remember in the first round of layoffs there were a lot of denial posts saying how the media is “reporting unsubstantiated rumors” or other similar statements. For the posts about the current layoff news, I don’t see those responses anymore from the meta-mates. What happened?
Grown more tired and cynical? Also there's nothing to deny, this is the post from the horses mouth.
bc that was speculation and this isn’t
I believe even though he sent this message from his private island, his heart will be with those impacted.
He started company for his own ambition and benefit. Some people also got rich with him. Beyond that he doesn't really care. And yeah hypocrisy is one of the key skills to be in senior management. Else they won't be able to say these things with straight face.
Zuckerberg does not have a fucking private island last I checked. He has a compound on Kauai that represents a large portion of the island's land mass and he shares the island with other rich fucks who should also drown in the sea. Meanwhile many residents are impoverished. Go figure.
Why don’t they just axe faster? That makes everyone demotivated
They really don’t care. Where will the demotivated people go?
The layoffs will continue until morale improves.
