Same thing happened when metas stock skyrocketed. Tons of layoffs before the skyrocket so they don’t have to pay out the appreciation. At the top, they hire a bunch before stock tanks. If the stock is high when you’re hired you get fewer shares. If the stock tanks while you work you make less money and they essentially get your services for cheaper Obviously I don’t have proof of this so don’t take my advice but it’s what I would do if I was any big tech company and it has sort of followed in the past.

Yes, mostly for senior+ roles. But why not just send in a resume and see what happens?
