Meta layoff 15%

Multiple sources. https://www.businessinsider.com/facebook-quiet-layoffs-will-impact-thousands-of-jobs-employees-say-2022-10 I wonder how much engineering will shrink. Good luck meta folks! Better than our 20%. It would have been better revenue share with Apple. So ATT wouldn’t be so abrupt. #meta

Facebook is conducting ‘quiet layoffs’ by urging managers to label a certain number of workers as underperforming. The moves may lead to thousands of job cuts.

The thing is that before the pandemic, we already had 10-15% of people underperform. When the pandemic hit, we paused ratings and were very lenient with low performers as people figure out how to adjust to covid and anxiety. Now that we don’t care about covid anymore, we are simply going back to performance reviews as they once were. No more coddling in this environment.

Mailchimp noGossips Oct 4, 2022

Let me correct it for you: We were lenient when stonk price was going to moon. Now, it’s taking a nosedive so we are back to reality

Meta 6153 Oct 4, 2022

We were very lenient during the pandemic, and yes stock price was high then. Now we are back to reality, and there is less patience when the stock price is low. Honestly I just see it going back to pre-pandemic days. People hired during the pandemic and were chilling are about to be in for a shock.

Meta has high standard…this doesn’t seem crazy. Google does the same thing every year

Google zOKe30 Oct 4, 2022

No, Google doesn’t do this same thing. Google has a much lower pip rate and is t currently trying to manage masses of people out

Airtable hxjanxha Oct 4, 2022

Google has 100,000 more employees than Meta. They’re definitely cranking up the heat as well.
