I went through an onsite at Meta. Still waiting for feedback but want to prepare an offer in mind if selected. I am hardware engineer and not software. Current TC: 380 L6. 15 YOE. Meta ask: 250k base, 250 stock and bonus. Does this sound good ? Most likely E5. Could be E6 as I have pushed interviewers during the calls and highlighting my experience well.
E5 max is around 220 base, 850k RSUs (over 4 years), 100k sign on bonus for SWE, hardware is lower (80% of that or so?). If you’re getting an E6 offer, I think your expected base is still high. You don’t need to request an offer, they’ll tell you how much their initial offer is, and you can negotiate from there. The recruiter will tell you what the max amounts are for each pert of the TC, so you can negotiate to there if you have good counter offers.
How does bonus work at meta and what are refreshers? Sign on is only for year 1 correct?
15% target annual bonus (regardless of one or two PSCs), which is then multiplied by company and personal performance. Refreshers have a target value for the employee level, and are multiplied by performance - they’re 4 year equity grants. The sign-on I believe is paid in full in the first paycheck, and needs to be paid back if you quit within a year

How do you push interviewers? I would like to learn this as well.
