Meta offer rescinded. Need this community’s help.
Good morning blind community. I just got word that my meta offer has been rescinded. I was supposed to start next Monday. I was ready to uproot my life to go to New York. I’m still having a hard time processing it all. I had offers from other great companies but made the wrong decision to go to Meta. Despite everything, I’m remaining calm and forming a plan to get my life back on track. I would greatly appreciate referrals/if you can help me in anyway. Tc: 0 Yoe: 4 internships 2 of them at Amazon 1 at unicorn startup

when did you accept your offer? are you getting severance?
You mean loss of income compensation?
I accepted in Feb. I’m not getting the standard 4 month severance as I’ve not started yet. I’m getting a 24k compensation (less than half of my sign on).

This is scary. Sorry to hear about this. How can one even give proper 2 week notice to their current employer if more and more offers get rescinded?
I feel like this is very unfair for me as I’ve already made arrangements to uproot my life. Flight is to New York is supposed to be this Friday. Packed my bags. Said goodbyes to all my friends and family. I won’t give up though. Now is time to grind.

It’s hard in this economy. But I won’t give up.
We’re all with you mate. It looks dire right now but you’ll pull through, it’ll just suck for a while. This can happen to literally anyone of us — and probably will happen at least once in everyone’s career. Good luck!

How's morale at upstart after earnings ? I backed off from interviewing already
