It’s not worth it if you’ll be fired in a few months, let alone survive for four years at meta. Not to mention their stock has been meh.
I will take the 600k and worry about been fired later
I just need to survive for 1 year for that 1 mill and it'll be way worth it.
Can I get a optical role making that kind of money? Even if you hold out for a year before your laid off you will still likely come out ahead compared to most engineering jobs.
Hardware doesn’t make this sort of money
It does at Meta. Know a guy with 7 YOE who got 550k TC. He has a PhD though.
Your buddy is awesome, but I think an exception. My partner has a masters and doesn’t make that sort of money. By sort of money, I was referring to 600k+.
What type of education background do VR engineers have?
Physics or optical engineering for the optical role.
