There is a huge backlog of people who are in team matching stage. Even if you clear interviews, you may be stuck in team matching for months
Yeah, that is why the best time to search for an ideal role is when you don’t have to find one. Having said that, M2+ role is usually quite targeted for a team in most companies. So mostly no team matching if loop feedback is positive.
I think this is blown out of proportion. I joined meta in March and I interviewed 5 teams in 5 days and picked the 5th. I spoke to a ton of engineers at bootcamp and most people found teams in under a week. I mentioned the “months in team matching” thing to my recruiter and he said vast majority of people pick their team in under 3 meetings and less than a week. I think people who take months are people who are trying to find their dream perfect team or are not open to working in a tech stack that is slightly out of their comfort zone.
