I was an E6 and part of April layoff. After layoff. I just chilled for 2.5 months. Lots of vacation and backpacking trips. Met couple of HM at Facebook who was interested in rehiring, but the number of positions were really low and most of the time, and internal hire fills it up. Started applying in June end and now got couple of offers that matched my 2022 Meta comp. And than Meta came in, they assigned a dedicated recruiter. He was very aggressive with hiring me back, lined up multiple team match meetings. Meta don't require any tech interview to rehire for 8-9 months, only team match meetings. I got 2 teams Interested And Meta beats every offer. Dropped 725K (without joining bonus) in Bay Area. I also kept the severance and Warn pay of around 300k. Recruiting guys were telling that externals vs rehiring ratio is 1:10. At this rate, Meta might close all hiring targets for the year really soon with rehiring. If you are applying externally at Meta for generalist roles, you might be wasting your time. PS - My Meta account is blocked by Blind. Using my wife account.

Am surprised that they didn't ask you to go through any loops at all post WARN. I'm hearing that people after WARN have to go through a shorter loop.
It's a Jedi only loop and it's for a formality sake. Mine asked only 2 questions and completed in 15 minutes. It does go to Hiring Committee.

Congrats OP, glad to hear they're prioritizing those impacted by the layoffs. It does raise questions about how the layoffs were handled if they're rehiring so many people.

How did the severance come up to 300k- what was your TC before?
It's 30 weeks Base salary for me + 1 Quarter Vesting which came close to 300K. I am including Warn Period here.

Itās simple, they wonāt be able to replace E6ās easily, so they need you back. Congrats man!
I know many E5s are also coming back. But it is better to hire someone who knows Meta's culture (specially the ugly part with PSC). I escaped the July PSC and might get immunity for January (my tenure is reset).
