I’m close to getting an offer but need to decide on start date soon. What’s the advantage of starting before the end of the year vs waiting until the new year? Would appreciate insights from anyone that’s gone through something similar. #tech #meta
Double dip - join this year, resign next year
Definitely heavily considering this
The grant price of your RSUs is the average closing price of meta of the calendar month prior to the month of your start date

If first week of dec, do it. Anything later that that 1st week, before 2024 - don’t. Ppl are going to vacation. Also time for psc writing. If you are all for swags, by all means!
Won’t that just be free money though, no much to work on, basically paid vacation.
Expectations should increase as a function of your time in the company until you complete ramp up. That one month of vacation may come back and bite you later.
Following. I’m in same boat.
Vesting wouldn’t begin until Feb 15 if join after Nov 15
Join this year get 2k for health/gym stuff

you will get 2K wellness benefit if you join this year. Also, also contribute 75% of your base to 401K for the first month. meta match dollar for dollar. also you will get prorated bonus refresher and base hike in march (not sure though) . I am also joining in dec
Thank you! What happens if I’ve maxed my contribution with current employer?
no idea. I didn’t max with my current employer so didn’t research on it

Ty. How do I time it?
You can't time this. You should ask about how refreshers are granted ie when should you join by to qualify for a refresher in q2 2025
