Meta start date
I’m close to getting an offer but need to decide on start date soon. What’s the advantage of starting before the end of the year vs waiting until the new year? Would appreciate insights from anyone that’s gone through something similar. #tech #meta

If first week of dec, do it. Anything later that that 1st week, before 2024 - don’t. Ppl are going to vacation. Also time for psc writing. If you are all for swags, by all means!
Won’t that just be free money though, no much to work on, basically paid vacation.
Expectations should increase as a function of your time in the company until you complete ramp up. That one month of vacation may come back and bite you later.

You can't time this. You should ask about how refreshers are granted ie when should you join by to qualify for a refresher in q2 2025
