Hey, passed the Meta interviews and have an E4 offer in NYC but stuck in the team matching process for about a month now. Had an interview with one hiring manager so far last week and heard nothing. Recruiter has been unbelievably unresponsive. Looking at AR/VR, core infra, and monetization pillars. I understand this is a similar situation for pretty much everyone in the process rn. Any tips/strategies to get through the pipeline a little faster? TC 210k #teammatch #meta
Yeah, it’s a bad situation. They over-filled the supply of folks at that level, and hiring managers are getting a lot pickier about who they bring in. You are at risk of a rescinded offer for real. You could ask the recruiter if you can update your resume in the system and tailor it for the roles you’re looking at. If you see posted openings that may be a fit (even at other levels) could ask recruiter if they’re able to reach out to them on your behalf?
Yeah it's scary. I dropped a startup offer for this because I assumed team match would be ez. I saw some IG openings from a friend that I'd try to get into, but my recruiter barely replies to me. Will ask her again in a few days. Thanks for the advice :)
Rescinding offer sounds like a hyperbole, the hiring committee interview result is valid for a year
In similar situation OP, been about a month. Haven’t had a single team match call
I'm in the same situation, 3 weeks and not even a single match. I interviewed for E4 SWE, ML and one of my friends from Meta said that they're hiring for ML but still I haven't spoken to one HM yet. It's getting a lil scary now.
i have an on-site in april, this doesn’t make sense why they are still interviewing candidates
Redundancy is king
I was told a couple of weeks back, that there are no openings for E4 position and I should interview for E5
this is BS??
Its not. Recruiter told me exactly this
Could you please help me understand how did you get an offer when you haven't been matched to a team yet?
Sorry, overloaded terminology. Basically an "official" email stating I've been extended an E4 offer and it is valid for a year. That's about it - no numbers or anything outside of that.
I thought meta gives verbal offers before giving offers over email though? @grubhub
what’s your yoe? hms are focusing on that
15yoe+ No matches yet. What are they prioritizing for?
You actually never got the offer so rescinding wouldn’t make sense
Did you get matched ?
How was the interview like?
Challenging but reasonable. 1 screen, 2 coding, 1 behavioral, 1 design, 1 follow up coding. Coding questions were a bunch of random ones from a basket. 2 in 35 min + follow up questions. Only one that was really tough was probability based one I partially answered. sys design was design a feature in spotify to display top 10 recommended songs to a user based on their listening history
