How can India develop a competitive platform when the US is attracting most of the talent. Unless the govt starts doing what China does but hopefully that day never comes.
There is little money to be made per customer in India
India has had plenty of social media apps created within the country. The ones from the US gained dominance anyway. The same is true all around the world except the places where the American apps are banned (China).
Indian customers will use all the services but provide very little revenue. Poor country.

There’s no revenue with an India centric model. The US customers subsidize usage for most other countries.

"Why not" - it is economically not viable to just be india centric. Customer in India are extremely price sensitive and expects services for free.
