I think ATL is more family friendly. Miami is chaotic. If you can thrive and enjoy that, then go for it. Source: Grew up in MIA, partying since middle school.

Miami isn't all partying and getting stabbed. It has nice suburbs as well, and the fact that you get to skip winter entirely is an amazing deal. My only complaint there was the neverending traffic.

Well... Miami is not at all what I think of, ever, when I think of places to raise a family/kids. But then again if you're breaking 300k TC you'll probably be fine anywhere that's MCOL.
