Hi guys, I’m posting on behalf of my friend, who just got an offer from Micron Boise. Process/technology development engineer YOE: PhD + 5.5 Level: E4 - senior? (I think) Base: 145k Bonus: 10% RSU: 40k (4yr) Is this a good offer? I’d appreciate it if anyone could share wisdom/experience here. #hardware #semiconductor
That seems so low, lower that most other silicon companies.
Standard offer for Boise, because of LCOL. Stocks can go upto 70K if you have other offers.
$170k TC for PhD and 5.5 YOE is standard? Other tech companies are over 200k for fresh PhDs. And isn’t Boise MCOL?
It is Micron, they have history of offering on the lower end. He was given E4, ideally for PhD and 5 years you expect to get E5 Which is close to 220K TC Boise is not MCOL, Folsom/Sacramento is atleast according to Micron.
Nm, I can't read. Yeah that's on the lower side for that yoe in that location
Intel is offering fresh PhDs close to TC 160 to 170K in Portland area. That is a low offer for PhD with 6yrs experience. At least call for $200K.
Is it 40k per year or 40k over 4?
Never mind, I see that it was answered
