I attended 3 interviews and felt I did well in at least 2 of them for senior roles. I have 5 YOE and have been IC all my career since I graduated 5 years ago from UW with a master's. Even with all this, I am being ghosted after the interviews at Microsoft, some of the interviewers even were kind of dismissing me while on the interview by not paying attention to what I was saying. Is there a bias at MS about not hiring female candidates as Sr IC? To be clear, I cleared every coding interview with optimal solutions (LC easy and medium), and the design interviews went well at least according to me. I have an L6 offer at Amazon and interviews pending at Google and CRM. #software #engineering #microsoft TC: 245k
Did you even read or did you just come for women bashing?
Same gender and had similar experience. For what I gathered going around is they need to interview diversity for the role, so sometimes they already have someone in mind but need to interview a diversity candidate
This could be it, just to clarify two of these were a hiring event and I see some from the even got offers on Blind which is why I was confused
Talks L6 amazon offer far better than Sr MS role.
I have a hard time believing there was any sort of discrimination/bias in this instance. Quite frankly, I don’t think interviewers care that you’re a female. They’re trying to gather if you’d be a good fit within the company within a short window of time. Every interviewer has their own red flags, and you may have raised one or two red flags during your interview without knowing. 🚩 You sound like you’re having a hard time dealing with a potential rejection. If you think the interviews went well, that’s all that matters. Keep moving forward and try not to get held up with things like this imo because there’s no way of knowing what the cause is. Good luck with your future offers!
No, you are delusional
You already have Amazon.. which means you did something right ! Stop the rant and move on.. don’t waste your time on MS
L6 sde with 5 yoe at Amazon ? This sounds unreal
Possible if you started as a new grad at Amazon but yeah external hire L6 SDE with 5 YOE sounds unreal
I did make it as an L6, I had 2.x years of experience in a not-so-good company before my Grad admission so with that I am over 7 YOE.
Being a recently promoted senior and a female I can confirm that this is the attitude with most dudes in my org, for some reason they act as if I didn’t deserve this promotion and brushes off when I talk in meetings. My manager is pretty useless, either way I am on my way out so that’s that.
Unfortunately, it's not just MS. But yes, there is discrimination there for Senior women. I know of 6 Senior Engineer women who left MS in the last three years because of bullying and hostility.
Maybe you didn't do as well as you think you did? Move on. FYI, I low key hate when people just bring diversity and shit for no reasons
I am not bring DV you AH, I feel I was discriminated and why is it wrong to express it?
AH? You just called me ass hole for no reason? I feel a lot of things don't mean I am always right? Life doesn't revolve around you just because you are a woman. Do you think you are the main character ha? I was trying to be polite. Lets me rephrase what I mean? You sucked at that interview so they ghosted you. Good luck and learn how to humble yourself. Peace out.
