TC: base 120k Stock 50k over 4 years Cash: 25k Relocation: 13.5k What do you guys think? I’ve been in the industry for almost a year
You can negotiate more stock. MSFT gives 120k stock to L59 college hires and 150k-180k stock to L60 college hires. Base and cash bonus look good. At those numbers your tc is about 145k (120k base, 12k target cash bonus, 12.5k stock). You can get close to 160k easily and I've seen L60 offers go up to 200k in rare occasions.
Msft can give more, yes, depending on a lot of factors. I've never heard of >150k for college hire though.
Thanks Estevez. I’m trying to figure out how I should approach this conversation cause I was initially offered only 20k over 4 years and not knowing how much was the average, I only asked for it being 50k. He’s telling me that if I were to ask for changes, he would have to make an entire new case and that it will lower other parts and how in the long run it might hurt me more( I asked for increase of base to 130k) and he said he have to talk to the hiring committee to get reapproval and all. So advice on how to approach this would be great. And @thePlague, I’ve been in the industry for less than a year so maybe I’m not college grad hahaha
New grad or have experience? Masters? Which team/org?
Not bad, but it doesn't hurt to ask for more. A 10 minute phone call could be worth tens of thousands of dollars.
Take it
I’ve been offered B: 117 Bonus:25 Stock 75 over 4 yrs. I have 2 years of experience before masters and 6 months after masters. Is it good ?
I think you might be able to ask for more
That is better than my L62 offer two years ago.
Amazing offer for essentially you being a new grad
I'd take that, but I'm making $34k and $3k bonus and have four kids.
How does Blind make you feel?
Fine. I have a good family, an old farmhouse with 11 acres of land, and making more money than I ever have. Life is good. $34k is better than $12k which I have lived on before.
