YOE:11 Current level: L5 PgM Current TC: base 170k/ bonus 30k/ equity 330k Current Location : Bay Area Offer level: L64 TPM Offer TC: 190k /bonus 15-30%/equity 350k and sign on bonus of 120k and full relocation Offer location: Redmond, WA Team: Azure security privacy compliance and identify Looking for honest evaluation- this a good offer for L64 ? Recruiter said Azure Core salary band for L64 was reached and not budging and I have a similar Meta offer (205base / 40k bonus/ equity 280k/ 50 sign-on bonus based in Bay Area IC6) but again not able to get more. #Microsoft #azure
Are you sure that's how the bonuses work? For L63 SDEs, I know it's "up to 30%" which means a range of 0%-30% with a target of 15%. Thought L64 was the same. (in practice, people get close to 15%)
I will double check with recruiter and hiring manager. I think you’re correct above, it’s 0-30
OP, don't leave Google and the Bay area to move to Redmond and MS. Specially not Azure. That org is a nightmare.
Haha I hear you. But Bay Area is overhyped and Azure may be a nightmare but I just went through Google ladder transfer landed in PgM ladder and got barely any TC raise. Any internal move at google puts me in the same position but with 30% less comp so I don’t have a choice and I can always boomerang back.
TC aside you might be walking into a really toxic environment. When I was in Azure there was no WLB, incredible stress, abusive managers and asshole coworkers. This was several years ago so not sure if anything has improved.
I'm sure it depends on the team, but Azure has great WLB in my experience. The tooling and procedures are pretty great these days, though some teams could do a better job on their TSGs. (Troubleshooting Guides)
Hi is azure comms good?
Which Azure sub org?
This is a great offer at L64. You can push $10-20K more on base salary.
Great offer for a TPM
How easy is it to make transition to PM internally if you’re starting as a TPM
