A friend recommended me to an opening on the Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO+I) team at Microsoft and the Data Center Operations Engineering (DOPE) team in it. Does anyone know about the WLB/culture of this team and if the work they do is interesting? YOE: 2
Shitty org. Leadership is crap. They even hired someone without manager experience and gave him L66, because he has some relation with the VP. Turns out that person is an ass***le. Failed completely on the manager principals of model, coach, care. The org Set really unreasonable high bar and promotion is slow for low levels. Not to mention even harder for higher level. Immature managers all over in the org, even L59 who wants to promote has to constantly remind her manager. Avoid this org by all means. There are other much better places within Microsoft, but not CO+I.
Is it still the same now across entire org? Not sure if I can get an interview with any other team
dogshit org
I think it's worse than C+E
What’s C+E? Only heard of E+D.

I am not even with MSft and can tell you in one word - BS I was interviewed for a role with a VP and she asked me just 2 questions that I Would not even ask for an intern! Fast forward 2 months she hired a guy from her previous company who had no relevant exp! So stay away
Cannot agree more. Given the fact that the vp of engineering hired someone who has 0 management experience as people manager, then brought toxic culture, and significantly slowed down the business progress. Not surprised other immature vp of this org ask stupid questions and brought her former colleague who might be the same type of immature. In summary, basically this org has 0 opportunities for people who is not a acquaintance of the LT Even though they work hard and bring great value to the business, and the LT treat those talents with toxic pua acts.
The same applies to CHME Org. They got a guy from intel who sits as GM and has no clue about cloud hardware and operational scaling of data center nor a manufacturing hardware background. How did this happen? Simple answer is his boss came from intel.
The cvp of cloud hardware infra engineering, Rani, is from intel. Are we talking about the same org?
Nope! A different person
Trying to get an interview for a Data Center Mechanical Engineer at role w/MSFT. Is the culture so bad? Is it still the same?
ME should be ok. Engineering org is a trash.

I am starting to think Chinese interviewers currently fail non-Chinese candidates on purpose.
Shitty org. I went through 6 manager changes in 7 months. No clear vision or direction. But that was just my experience…someone else could have had it better.
How was the workload?
I used to finish my work in 2 hours and then wondered for the next 6 hours what if people found out that that my job is really that simple
