Microsoft Dynamics 365 - bad team match?

I, SWE, 6 YOE, recently got an offer for L61 at MSFT to work on Dynamics 365, no other competing offers atm. Compensation is good for the area, as I already live in the area, but I haven't worked with this product before and come from a very different industry. I've come across some data that doesn't look pretty in terms of project/technology/career advance, anyone has experience with it that can share? Worst case, how are team transfers being handled in MSFT recently, if I decide to join and the fit isn't good?

Doing what on dynamics 365? As someone who has had the unfortunate experience of using it in a corporate environment I can tell you I wouldn’t be excited.

Software development focused on supply chain management. I tend to believe it is a very niche application with niche technology, not sure, mixed feelings.

The work would be in X++ (Similar to C#). Dynamics 365 is an ERP and CRM software with pluggable systems (SCM, Finance, HR, etc.). The code base is really huge (so many systems) for ERP. The CRM codebase is divided for each subsystem e.g. HR has its own and Commerce has its own. Trying to understand the system, working with multiple setup (or broken setup) is the most challenging part. Also, there are always too many customer issues to be fixed so work on feature development might be limited or you might have to toggle between development and On-Call.

Easy to transfer after a year. Great company.

The product is growing and has a good leader, IMO. Both Nirav and Charles are cool headed leaders with a clear vision. Now, execution is a mess because there are a lot of empires that have been built over the years that need to be flushed. But, as someone working in the Dynamics and Power Platform teams I’m pretty happy with my job and WLB.

It would ERP team and the team has a lot of focus on AI....so not a bad time to join. Additionally, the ERP team is geo located in China, USA, & Ireland as well so you have various options for internal transfer

Dynamics is good team if you want to learn office teams are really bad and there is no learning. I have worked in c+ai, e+d, webxt and was in dynamics for 4 years but we used to work on cloud micro services which is the current setup now they are upgrading it and doesn’t want to use the old technology. Overall good team and nice growth
