Are there any mmonalities between the hiring process? I wanted to join Msft as a SWE now and was wondering if it would be easy to transfer or atleast get an interview with their gaming acquisitions like Bethesda Are the hiring processes for all of them entirely disconnected from the parent company?
Bethesda SWE paybands cap out at like 130-140k and above that is senior (~140-160k). There's also no stock, bonus is pretty lousy (varies by company performance, last two years they blamed COVID). Go for an Xbox live team for more money and stock options. That said we are hiring a lot of you're interested in moving to Maryland or an office in Texas.
It's surprising that stock isn't offered because we offer it to LinkedIn or GitHub employees.
Is Bethesda still bad? Curious what I could expect for backend eng with over 2yoe

Why I Find Free Palestine Inspiring
The hiring process for the recent acquisitions (Bethesda, Activision) is still separate. In addition, the compensation is also not up to Microsoft standards and probably won’t be (seeing as how Bethesda hasn’t changed any of their comps). For example, Activision’s new grad compensation is around 85-110k, depending on which subsidiary you join, so you’ll definitely be taking a pay cut.
