Recently accepted an offer with Microsoft but it’s been over a month now I am in H1B transfer. The immigration team generally reply in the middle of night (3AM - 5 AM) which is very frustrating as everything which could have been done in a single day took me more than a week. And per my conversation they are still in initial stage from here they will take at least 6 - 7 weeks (with premium processing) Was someone in similar situation? How much time did your H1 transfer took? Also is there any way I can expedite the whole process?? TC - 🥜 #workvisa #h1b #transfer #microsoft #newemployement
If they are replying between 3-5 am its their inhouse team. Their inhouse team is very efficient and works faster than other firms like fragomen, bal,etc therefore, you got lucky! It may seem like process is getting delayed due to timezone, but there are multiple steps that needs to be done from employer side like lca, job posting, etc which would be happening in parallel.
It takes at least a couple of weeks for any company to prepare for filing. Then it takes a few days for lca and up to 15 days for premium processing. Be patient and don't resign from your current role until you have the transfer fully approved. Congrats!
What country are you from?
How is this relevant?
Unless you’re doing some analytics 😂
Same here . Immigration team told me 6-8 weeks and they submitted the application in 7 weeks and I got the approval in 3 days
Microsoft's immigration processes are longer but they make sure everything goes perfectly. I had my STEM OPT case, which shouldn't even take a week. However, it took them almost 4-6 weeks to complete the process. I still haven't been onboarded though. MSFT processes are time-consuming and it looks like taking forever. For perspective, I was interviewed in mid-August.
Wow! That’s awfully long for OPT!!
With Apple (using Fragomen) I accepted the offer Sept 20th and started the process and questionnaire the 21 and finished the 22nd. They filed Oct 12 and got the receipt confirmation Oct 15. Waiting on the response now (Oct 20 today)
Any updates ? In the same boat
Did you have to request your manager for premium processing H1B transfer via email? What was the procedure ?
If it is premium process, usics hve to answer and approve/reject/query after 15 days
Yes but immigration team is taking up a lot of time and haven’t yet filled with uscis
