I noticed that Microsoft has a Hardware Product Manager position available for new grads. Does anyone know what the difference is between a Hardware PM and Software PM as it relates to technical skills and day to day tasks? Also, what are the interviews like for this position - will it be technical or basic behavioral and product questions? I interviewed last year for the Software PM position and the interview experience was a lot of fun! #productmanager #microsoft
Hardware PM is far more supply chain and operations focused. Be prepared to discuss which OEM model suits best your hardware product portfolio. Which functionality should you delegate to firmware or software. You can leave your Agile, Kanban, and all other PM buzzwords at the door.
Thank you! Any advice on how to go about preparing for these interviews?
