What do you think about this MSFT 62 SDE TC? It seems final offer but wonder if it's still negotiable to go higher? base: 17xk sign-on: 50k (2 yr) on-hire RSU: 150k (4 yr) Greater Seattle Area Back-end distributed engineer YOE: 5 yr Current TC: 310k Thank you in advance
Microsoft is giving annually refreshers? Then it’s the highest 62 offer i ever seen
That’s what I heard, correct me if I’m wrong
I don’t think Microsoft gives out refreshers
annual RSU 40k for L62? Recruiter is straight up marketing lies. Let me explain. The range for L62 annual stock refresher is 0-40k and it follows bell curve model aka 70% employees get midpoint of their range. So you’ll get 20k. Here’s the shitty part that recruiter didn’t tell ya: those annual refresh vest over 5 years. Do the math and your 40k is actually 20/5 = 4k in year1 not 40k that recruiter is flaunting I don’t even count the refresher stock. The cash bonus is usually 10-15% of base and it’s given lump sum so that is good to include in TC.
Thanks for the explanation and it does help. Recruiter didn’t count the annual stock refresher in TC so I wasn’t sure how it works.
Base salary is fine but other components are horrible. When I joined as L60 4 years ago I got 70k (2y) joining bonus and 150k RSU (4y). And I got these numbers without having any other offers. Just talked about what I am bringing on table and that I am looking at a long term view. As others have pointed out, MS doesn't really have any stock refresher and yearly rewards are also not too great so please negotiate harder. Use your current TC to nudge them.

Hell, market rate must have gone up in the last few years. When I joined as a 62 I was at 140 base.
