I received a verbal offer from Microsoft 3 weeks ago. After all the negotiations and approvals, I was told the official offer letter would be released in a couple of days after HR Audit. Per my recruiter, audit came back and wanted to create a requirement for the position for which I am being hired. Recruiter told me that, all levels of approvals have been received and they are just waiting on the new requirement to be created and it could take them a couple of days to roll that out. I have been waiting ever since and I also tried to get in touch with my recruiter a couple of times (through emails and phone calls) but to no avail. I also have contacts of other recruiters in MS. Should I ask them about my offer status ? What would you guys suggest me to do ? One of my friends interviewed with another group in MS and received an official offer last week. I am not sure what’s wrong with my group. ( I interviewed in the first week of Feb and he interviewed in the last week of Feb). I know the current situation around the pandemic and do not want to sound desperate. MS is my dream company and I was just wondering if I should start interviewing for other companies again. Role: SDE (Level 61) Group: M365 Location: Redmond, WA.
Ride out the corona storm at your current company. I doubt anyone is signing offer letters in impacted areas.
You got Coronad
Was this from feb10 hiring event? I’ve also been waiting for written offer for 2 week now from m365, recruiter is super unresponsive, wonder if we have same recruiter. Can you dm me?
Is this for the M365 S+C group?
I am in the same situation as op, for s+c. Do you know if there is a hiring freeze in that org?
Yes, it is for the M365 S+C group
Offer details ?
I believe the delay is due to the Coronavirus. Office 365 engineering is under extreme pressure to deliver complex asks from our Enterprise Customers because of COVID-19. This includes Directors and on up the chain. Hold tight - I think you’re fine.
Don’t worry about it. I had the same experience when I interviewed. Everything was okay. I am not sure if all of Microsoft follows this, but apparently they need to have the position they are hiring you for posted for a few days officially on the careers site, before they close the position.
Microsoft is very disorganized when it comes to recruiting. Nothing to worry about
Sounds like HR is punting. The people doing the approvals may be sick. But it sounds like the person you are talking to is being honest.
Role cancelled due to coronavirus.
But I see the group is still conducting Virtual interviews.
They meant your role was canceled.
