Hi I would be joining as FT Software Engineer at Redmond Campus I am 24 with 1 YOE Do you think travelling from Downtown Seattle to Redmon everyday would be a lot of commute and not worth it? P.S- I don't own a car #msft #microsoft #redmond #seattle
I wouldn't advice taking shuttle when there's an outbreak here. Stay safe, take an uber or rent a car. Public transportation is one of the biggest reasons for outbreak
I’m not sure an Uber is much better. At least Connectors are sanitized.
The traffic through connectors is much higher compared to that through Uber. So yeah, I think there's a much higher chance that someone with virus used the shuttle
Your commute will be 25-40 mins depending on traffic.
Look at shuttle maps. All other commute options suck. Lite rail will be nice in a few years.
Where do I find the shuttle maps? Is there an app?
If I were you, I would’ve rented at crossroads area or near campus. Commute is nightmarish during peak time, specially near campus.
At 24? No way. That’s a social life death sentence.
Congrats! It’s doable. Where at downtown? If it’s actually Capitol Hill, it’s very easy with the connectors. 20-30 min in AM, 30-40 in PM. 50 on a really bad traffic day.

There's a Microsoft shuttle from downtown Seattle, so you can check the route and pick an apartment somewhere close to the stop. However, the shuttles are not running till March 25 because of COVID-19 and WFH policies
