Was wondering if you all could give me some feedback on this initial offer. Some background: 10 years work experience, 1.5 years in Software Engineering (prior in Systems Engineering). Have technical BS and MS, working on MS in Comp Sci now. Base: $127k Sign on Cash: $20k Sign on RSU: $20k Stock Refresh: Up to $13k In terms of leverage, I'm waiting to hear back offer details from Amazon. I'm most interested in boosting base salary, was wondering how high I could ask for.
Is the offer for level 61? If so, very unlikely they'll increase the base.
Not sure on the specific level. Is there a way to find out? The recruiter stated they couldn't share that information, just the title.
The stock refresh you've listed indicates that this is a level 61 offer.
Congrats! I think I was in the same interview group as you, I didn’t get the offer though:( Definitely wait for amazon offer and then compete.
Thanks! Sorry to hear, I hope you keep trying!
10 years experience and SDE2?!?
Yea, I was thinking because I only have 1.5 years experience in the Software Engineering field is the reason why.
How much rsu did they offer you?
$20k sign on RSU with up to $13k annual refreshes.
Azure compute and other infra services are among the best rewarding teams you can join. Work hard for three years, the worst thing can happen is to leave the team and increase total compensation by 50 percent.
That's great to hear! Could you expand on the last bit regarding increasing TC by 50%?
When you get the offer from Amazon be sure to know which team you will be joining. Don't just compare the money. The mistake could be costly.
Ask for $80k RSU and for 4 yrs. You will thank me later. RSU is for 5 yrs or is that yearly?
Did you end up going for the azure compute team? How was it?
Did they increase ur offer?
Base is fine, ask for a bigger signing bonus and more stock. They’ll negotiate both, not by a ton, but they’ll give you $5k extra signing and $5k extra stock basically just for asking.
Thanks for the input. I heard that stuff like that comes from the recruiting budget so it's much easier to give. Any chance that I can negotiate a higher base?
Maybe? I tired and it didn’t work.
