Any Indians Think Kashmir Should be Independent?
Hey guys, I recently got an informal offer to join Microsoft. Recruiter told me to give me the news last week. I’m waiting for the official, written offer to come this week. However, my OPT expires August 2021. This year is my last try at the H1B. Microsoft already knows this as I had to submit all my immigration paperwork prior to my interviews. That being said, can Microsoft rescind my offer due to immigration issues? Or will they still take me in and relocate me should that be the case? I’m staying positive because if they didn’t want to hire me they wouldn’t have agreed to the onsite interview, but I’m not sure if that’s the case. Job Location: Redmond, WA Position: Software Engineer ( I do not know the level exactly) Team, Office 365 Intelligence Pay: Unknown About me: Location: NYC Company: Bank of America TC: 115K YOE: 2 Country of birth: Guatemala #workvisa #h1b #opt
Yea don’t worry about it! They’ll apply for your H1B this year and also have a back up plan for you (they usually work with your manager and one skip for an alternative location)! For most of us in Redmond, it’s usually Canada.
Bro if you were born in Guatemala why didn’t you just apply for green card ... you would’ve gotten it before the 3 years of work authorization from stem opt expired
My current company didn’t want to apply for it... I asked after my first failed H1B attempt and they gave a bunch of lame excuses
MSFT will take care of it.
Did you end up joining Microsoft or you faced any issues with immigration clearance?
MSFT immigration team will take care of it. If you get H1 in your last attempt you should be good. Otherwise most likely you’ll be relocated to Canada 🇨🇦. Also GC process will start within couple of weeks you join Microsoft.
If they are hiring you, they will take care of it.
