Should Satya also commit to freezing executive pay, which will likely soar due to being weighted to stock-based comp?
Didn't they say that they also won't get merit increase?
Their merit increase is base pay. Which is only about 1-10 percent of their compensation. Regular salary worker base pay is about 50 percent or more of compensation; Satya is not losing but us
Those who loose the most are the most junior employees. For them, base pay is the largest chunk of TC. What pisses me off about the email is the total lack of empathy, and blatant disregard for different global conditions. Global company, my ass.
Why not take executive pay raise and give the people doing actual work their raises?
Because they only care how much they get paid, not you
Because that would be too much leadership.
Do you expect people to say no?
I did. Unfortunately, the neo-capitalist incentive structure at these companies demands the executives get bonuses if it results in higher stock price, whatever may be the reason
Currently at 12%
I think we should raise all executive compensation, but only in the form of 🥜
Satya deserves a bonus from Google for pushing us into action! Thank you, dude!
This is demotivating at best.. if I'm a high performer, I'll jump ship...
The company wants voluntary attrition. Its obvious.
Correct. When I jumped away from Microsoft last year, despite great performance, my manager openly told me that, and moved to LinkedIn a month later. Microsoft is now like Amazon: coming for the first two year when you have the hiring bonus, and move on. Come back later at higher level if wanting another hiring bonus. As a L7 at Google, I'm making the same as my previous long-time Microsoft VP (Level 70!).
Fuck salary and pay cuts. Kill their bonus.
U can.
Those at top are immune to recession as they are the one who decide pay to lower positions. LT has a lot of stock and bonus as compensation so hike doesn't affect them.
I am absolutely not sure as to how voting in Blind can help though
It's just for us plebs' entertainment
