If you will be working on backend services hosted on Azure or javascript based UI for not so legacy product, then your skills wont become obsolete.

You are better off working as the janitor cleaning the toilets at Yahoo, than joining those teams. Also, if you are so eager to shoot your career down to the point that you are considering Microsoft, you might as well just start working as a computer technitian at Best Buy.
