Just had a conversation with a recruiter regarding a single panel interview at MSFT for SDE with a 24 hour hiring decision for a contract to hire. Apparently they’re piloting this since Jan 2022. Has anyone had experience with this instead of the traditional rounds of interviews? TC 115 in Low/mid COL
Don’t believe in third party recruiters. They confidently say it is WFH and contract to hire.
What staffing agency?

I would trust them. I just got a new job paying 140k+ and I got it via a competing staffing agency. It was just an online technical assessment and then a 1 and done interview. Though they said I’d get the offer by EOD, I just got assured I did great and eventually got the offer 1 week later after the background check cleared
Nothing weird about it I guess. I am currently working on W2 through a staffing company. I interviewed with Microsoft directly. I had 3 technical rounds directly by Hiring Manager and Senior Engineers of the team. After each round, I got to know within a few hours whether I will be moving forward to the next round. After the final round I got to know their decision within 2 hours.

What happens when most of your team is Indian?
I call this bull. Unless your recruiter has an official MS email, it’s probably lying.
Recruiter doesn’t but my interview will be directly with Microsoft managers so I guess I’ll find out.
