Has anyone joined Microsoft after having around 8+ years of experience in java. How is your experience? Do we need to learn c# and .net and related frameworks or do we get enough Java projects also? Anyone regretting for changing from Java to c# after having 8+ years of experience in Java
Yes Mostly you will have to work on c# .net platform. But depending on team it could be other tech. as well. However it would be easy to switch between java to c# as both follow all the patterns in similar manner.
Doesn’t matter tech stack keeps moving. These were old mindset from service based companies who asked language framework specific questions instead of ds algo design.
I moved here with a Java background. Java and C# are essentially same and you will easily pick up the coding part. There are not much Java projects and you will be working most probably on C# / .net What I miss is various open source frameworks which were much easier to integrate with Java. With .net and Microsoft overall it's not easier to try out new technologies. Depending on project, existing infrastructure / technologies may be quite old and you need to work with in those boundaries.
