I have accepted an offer from Microsoft and have completed with background check and the immigration team said my work authorization is valid too. However they have said that my h1b visa will be filed for 2023 lottery. I have not yet got any confirmation if my h1b will be filed for this year’s lottery or not. Has someone else been in a similar situation? Or have any idea if Microsoft will file for me or not?#tech #Microsoft #visa #h1b
Most immigration teams must have stopped taking names for this year’s lottery a couple of weeks ago. Even though the registration period is currently ongoing, their reasoning is that they need time to process your documentation for the registration, so they usually stop taking in new names after the middle of Feb
Do they have special cases? How about people who accept offer late feb and need h1 filed? Also all my background check and work auth validation is done
Would recommend you to ask your HR asap. Filing deadline is 18th
2023 lottery or FY2023 lottery? FY2023 implies the lottery that runs in March 2022 while 2023 lottery probably implies lottery that runs in March 2023.
Lottery that runs in 2023
For LinkedIn, I submitted my final docs Friday (2 days ago)
Ok and have they agreed to file?
Yes
@Gdip71 OP, congratulations on the new job! Did you get any reply back from MS HR team? Do they have any special cases to consider? I'm in a similar boat, I got verbal offer from recruiter 2 days ago. Yet to get BGC done, so wondering if they file my H1B this time.
the deadline was Feb 11, so it’s nearly impossible that they’ll file for you this time.
