SDE 2 hiring event feedback from recruiter was positive. They are working on offer. Something that kind of concerns me is that I did not do so hot in the 4 rounds. 1 of the rounds I got absolutely destroyed in but I kept trying to solve till last minute. In hiring events are you competing with other people, like you just have to perform better than rest? I see threads where people answer everything perfectly and still don't get the job. Does MSFT have a hire to fire policy like amazon? Is there a ir/zr quota? Is it team specific? Like non azure orgs are easier? Does location matter? Like if you attend in Atlanta, Austin or dallas versus Redmond? I am obviously happy I am moving forward with my dream company but I am having some confidence issues for sure. Time to celebrate! If you get pipped there pip boss will roll offer instantly dont worry !
😂 once I cleared amzn bar and rejected them, I do get pinged a lot
No, Microsoft doesn’t have hire to fire policy. In fact, I don’t think any company would have such kind of policies, they might have such bad practices followed by some managers. I think you did well enough for the hiring team and you should feel confident joining the team. I am sure the hiring team will do everything possible to set you up for success.
Lol, is msft firing?
🍿
Msft and google hire to chill 😂
Sarcasm? I heard azure and gcp are not chill.
@rif-fear Maybe not Azure and GCP, but everything else is absolute chill
how did you find out about the hiring event. I am trying to apply to msft as well
Recruiters ping me. You can also follow msft recruiters. They usually like and share about hiring events
More like hire to retire
This is my favorite one
I heard azure is not chill and I think some paas too like outlook etc
you’re overestimating their bar. Also sde2 event.
True
Microsoft often doesn’t look for perfect.. they look for learning ability and growth potential.
Location matters in a few ways that immediately come to mind. First, if the talent pool is smaller the teams will have trouble filling PCNs. I’ve seen it happen multiple times where the bar keeps dropping just to fill PCNs. Wtf? I’d rather leave them empty Second, career wise, being away from the critical mass can take away visibility and impact. It depends how strong and competent your local management is to represent you
Pcn? I see lots of MSFT orgs increasing headcount outside of Redmond. I also see remote jobs. I do wonder how one would be treated if they are never in Redmond office and there is not much local presence which there won't be since most orgs are building our teams
You will hear that you are treated fine but it really depends on who is representing you at rewards time for career growth For day to day stuff it depends how good your team is supporting you. Like all places, there are good teams and bad teams. The nice thing is if it doesn’t work out on one team, just switch internally. You may have to interview again but that’s ok, what I’m saying is it’s a low risk move if that’s at all a concern

BREAKING: Internal sources confirm another round of layoffs just hit emails at Tesla. For real.
Stop doubting yourself. MSFT isn’t Amazon, so you’ll be fine. And congrats!
