Microsoft hiring freeze
I read about microsoft hiring freeze, I recently got offer which I accepted and got my background cleared have my i9 pending (which will be completed on coming Monday). Joining date is not decided yet as it's dependent on i9 completion. Can offer be rescinded? Tc-150k #msft #microsoft #layoffs
Given the current environment, I think we should always assume an offer can be rescinded at any time regardless of what companies may tell us. We should take appropriate measures to protect ourselves, as I am sure companies will act in their own interests.
Freeze is only for a few orgs. While you can never say never I wouldn’t waste a lot of time worrying about it at Microsoft. For what it’s worth, my team is on freeze and we have two new hires starting in next few weeks, we’ve been told they are safe and no issues.

Which org is your offer from? Heavily dependent on that factor.

If you are on work visa, can’t I-9 verification be done post joining?
At MS they rely on 3rd party I9 verification. I’m not sure if it’s safe to get I9 verified later
I'm on ead via adjustment of status and got my gc application i485 approved recently (two days back)they have not shipped gc yet.
